My Morning Skincare Routine

My Morning Skincare Routine

One of my 2019 goals have been to take really good care of my skin and that involves trying out several products and finally coming up with a routine that works for my skin. The products that I shared below are a mix of my long time favorites and some new ones. So here’s a look at my morning routine…

I like to wash my face with really cold water in the mornings as it helps in minimizing the pores and kind of wakes you up instantly. I use Fresh Soy Cleanser and I’m a big fan of this gentle face wash. It works well with my oily/combination skin and leaves my skin clean without drying it out. Its suitable for all skin types and gentle enough for everyday use.

This is a step that I like to do every 2-3 days coz it helps get rid of any dead skin cells and leaves my skin looking super clean and healthy. I swear by Lush Cup O’ Coffee face and body mask, this scrubby coffee-filled mask gives you glowing skin. Also, who doesn’t like the rich smell of coffee in the morning?! I like to spread it on my face and neck and add a little water to massage it in for 30 seconds and leave it on for 5-15 mins depending upon the time I can spare.

Another good exfoliant I have tried is the Fresh Soy Face Exfoliant, its much more gentle and good for sensitive skin. For days, when my skin feels dry and dull, I slather on Fresh Rose Face Mask on damp skin and leave it on for 5-10 mins. I’m a huge fan of Fresh masks and this one leaves my skin hydrated and radiant every time.

After washing my face thoroughly, I like to put Dr. Dennis Gross Vitamin C serum by gently tapping it onto my face with my fingers. You just need a small amount, 1-2 pumps for your face and neck. I love using the Herbivore Jade Roller to help absorb the serum completely into my skin. I like to roll it in upward motions going back and forth a couple of times starting from the center of my face to the jawline and repeat throughout the face and neck area.

Also, I keep it in the fridge so its even more effective in reducing the puffiness on my face and its a huge plus, that this facial massage is so calming and relaxing.

I’m totally crushing on Tatcha The Water Gel coz its super light and non greasy that works really well for my combination skin. I use two pumps for my face and neck and its become my holy grail. I’ve already purchased my second bottle and highly recommend this for Oily/Combination skin. I would recommend checking out Tatcha The Water Cream if you have dry skin.

Eye Cream/Lip Balm

I have separate eye creams for my morning and evening routine. For mornings, I like to use Ole Henriksen Banana Bright Eye Crème as it instantly brightens up my under eye area while keeping my sensitive skin hydrated. Its great for covering up those dark circles and goes really well under makeup.

When it comes to lip balm, I have two favorites: Fresh Sugar Peach Hydrating Lip Balm and Jack Black Intense Therapy Lip Balm. The Fresh one is hydrating, adds a little shine to my lips and tastes like peaches and cream. Yum! The Jack Black lip balm delivers an amazing amount of hydration along with SPF 25 which is a huge plus. I like to steal this from Akhil during the winters to rescue my dry lips.

And the critical last step is applying sunscreen. I never leave my house without it even on cloudy days. I’ve been using Sheseido Ultimate Sun Protection Lotion for months now and its been my savior on all my trips as well as daily routine. I have been hearing good things about Supergoop Unseen Sunscreen and would love to give it a try.

So this is my morning skincare routine with my current favorite products. What are your Skincare faves?
